Article Abstract:
Technical developments in carbon management are sketched, and how these developments impact the politics and policies of global climate change are evaluated. Carbon management's technical development is far ahead of considerations about the risks and limitations of the developments, and have not received sufficient attention in global policy discussions concerning the climate.

Gathering airs schemes for averting asteroid doom
Article Abstract:
Scientists met at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in May 1995 to discuss ways to avert a catastrophic cosmic collision. One proposal was a Spaceguard network that would detect both large and small asteroids crossing the earth's orbit. Way to deflect or destroy asteroids were also proposed.

Pacific warming unsettles ecosystems
Article Abstract:
Scripps Institution of Oceanography researchers reported an 80% decline in zooplankton along California's coast between San Diego and a point just south of San Francisco. They believe the loss is due to the 1.2- to 1.6-degree C rise in temperature since the early 1950s due to El Nino warmings.
